About CRPF
The Central Reserve Police Force was established as the Crown Representative's Police on 27th July 1939. It was renamed the Central Reserve Police Force on the promulgation day of the CRPF Act on 28th December 1949. The Force has been in existence for 82 years of amazing history. This Force has grown to become an enormous organization, with 246 Bns, (including 203 executive Bns and 5 VIP Security Bns 6 Mahila Bns and 15 RAF Bns 10, 10 CoBRA Bns and 05 Signal Bns 01 Special Duty Group, 01 Parliament Duty Group Special Duty Group, 01 Parliament Duty Group), 43 Group Centres 22 Training Institutions, 03 CWS. 07 AWS 03 MWS/SWS hospitals of 100 beds. 18 Composite Hospitals of 50 beds, and the 06 field hospital.

The main purpose of Central Reserve Police Force Central Reserve Police Force will assist the government to maintain Rule of Law, Public Order and Internal Security efficiently and effectively and to protect the integrity of our nation and to promote Social Harmony and Development by respecting the absolute power of the Constitution.

The Force has evolved into a vast organization that comprises two-and-a half billions (including the executive Bn of 208, 6 Mahila Bns 15, RAF Bns of 15 10 CoBRA Bns, as well as 5 Signal Bns and the 1 Special Duty Group, 1 Parliament Duty Group), 43 Group Centres 20 Training Institutions : 3 CWS 7 AWS 2 SWS, 1 MWS, four composite hospitals with 100 beds and 17 composite hospitals with 50 beds.

Organizational Set-up of the Force
The Headquarters of the Force Hqrs of the Central Reserve Police Force is located at Block No. 1, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Director is the head for the CGO Complex. Directorate General
Administration
Administration Directorate Administration Directorate is located under the direction from lG (Adm). The director is assisted by aid from DIG (Adm) & DIG (Welfare).
Personnel
The Personnel Directorate is functioning under the supervision of lG (Pers). He is supported with DIG (Pers), DIG (CR and Vig), DIG (Org), DIG (Estt) and Comdt(Estt).
Training
The Training Directorate is under the direction from IG(Training). The director is assisted by help with the help of DIG (Training-l), DIG (Training-ll) and DIG(Sports).
Operations
The Operations Directorate is functioning under the guidance of IG (OPS). The director is assisted by DIG (OPS-I) along with DIG (OPS-I) as in addition to DIG (OPS-II).
Provisioning
The Provisioning Directorate operates under the supervision by IG (Provisioning). This is assisted by DIG (Prov), DIG (Mod & ORD), DIG(MT) and Comdt. (Mod) and Asstt. Director (Prov).
Communication
IG(Communication) is accountable for the Communication Dte. IG(Communication) is accountable for the Communication Dte. He is assisted by DIG (Eqpt ), DIG (Tech) and DIG (IT) .
Intelligence
The Intelligence Directorate is functioning under the supervision from IG (Intelligence). He is assisted by DIG (MAC),Commandant(Int) and PRO.
Establishment
The Establishment branch operates under the direction of IG(Estt.). They are assisted in their activities by DIG(Law) and DIG (Rectt).
Finance
The Finance Branch and Pay is run as a direct supervision of the FA. It is supervised by Dy.FA. Finance Branch is helped by Dy.FA.
Medical
The Medical Branch is functioning under the direction of IG Director (Medical). This is assisted by two Dy. Director (Medical).
The Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) is India's largest Central Armed Police Force. It is a part of the of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. The principal responsibility of the CRPF is supporting the State and the Union Territories in the police operations to maintain peace and order and to defeat insurgency. The CRPF was created as the Crown Representative's Police on the 27th of July, 1939. Following Indian Independence, it became its own Central Reserve Police Force on adoption of the CRPF Act on 28 December 1949.
